Affiliations and Networks
Pu‘ulu Lapa‘au's ability to effectively advocate for our healthcare providers is dependent on good working relationships with other groups or entities in the community.
Federation of State Physician Health Programs: The Federation is the national organization under which all Physician Health Programs in the United States fall. Pu‘ulu Lapa‘au is an active member of the Federation and takes advantage of its information network, annual meetings, and resources. We use these tools to develop and maintain policies and procedures that are consistent with the national standards.
Professional Organizations: We keep current on topics related to provider health through membership and association with leading speciality organizations, such as the American Medical Association.
Hawai‘i Healthcare and Community Organizations: We engage with local and national organizations, including major healthcare organizations, professional insurance entities, professional associations and regulatory agencies to assist us in advocating for our providers.
Referral Network: We maintain a comprehensive network of specialists, both locally and nationally, to whom we refer for professional evaluation and treatment. All evaluators and treatment providers are required to have expertise in helping healthcare professionals.
