Information and Consultation

Pu‘ulu Lapa‘au serves as the primary resource of information related to healthcare provider health in the State of Hawai‘i.  Our Directors and Staff are available to respond to both general inquiries and specific requests for information about our program.

We provide consultation to individuals, hospitals and other organizations who may be concerned about the well-being, health, or functioning of a Hawai‘i healthcare provider. This includes family, friends, colleagues, and employers.

We provide initial screening for self-referred providers and those referred to us by their hospital, other organizations, or a regulatory agency. We will speak with any provider at the their request, at any time.

Screening consists of listening to the provider's concerns, reviewing reports regarding the problem or situation, and outlining potential next steps. Since we are not a regulatory agency, engagement with Pu‘ulu Lapa‘au is strictly voluntary.
